One week to go

The playoffs start next week and it looks like it will be the Yanks, A’s, Tigers and Twinkies making the playoffs.

Mr. Torre is having a tough time balancing going after the best record in the league and getting guys ready for postseason.  I think home field advantage will be big for the Yankees.  The AL team won the All-star game again this year so if the Yanks make it to the series, they will have home field advantage throughout the playoffs.  I guess the only playoff team with a threatening place to play are the Twinkies.

Ideally this is how I would like the see the playoffs go.  Yanks over Twinkies in 4, Tigers over A’s in 5.  Yanks over Tigers in 6.  Yanks over Cardinals in 5.

Any thoughts on the A-rod to Angels trade talks????  If they Yanks do not get number 27 and A-rod chokes this off-season there will be some serious talks with the Angels (and other teams).  Also, Manny being Manny I think has worn out its welcome in Beantown.  Could you see the Angels getting Manny AND A-rod????  The Angels have the farm system to do both deals.  Who would you want the Yanks to get if they traded A-rod to the Angels?  Santana, Wood, group of prospects?  The fallout question would be who would play 3rd next year for the Yanks?

Hopefully the Yankees win number #27, A-rod becomes Mr. October (I always root for the guys in pinstripes to do well, even if I am not the guys biggest fan) and the Yanks gear up for number 28 in the offseason with or without A-rod.

Stevereno.
