Yanks deal Wright

Well, right after I posted the previous post I went to espn.com and saw that the Yanks dealt Wright to the O’s for Britton. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2658959

6′3” 278lbs. Wow, now that is a beast on the hill. His numbers look good so he could be a good arm in the pen. If anything he gives us depth in the pen. He probably has minor league options if he stinks in the spring.

Well, it looks like the Yanks are leaning more and more to giving young arms a shot. If they lose the bid for Matz and then cannot sign Zito or Schmidt they will only have Wang, Johnson (43 y/o) and Moose (who should resign). That means the #4 and #5 spots. Oh yeah, there is still Panzy Pavano who may actually be worth some money next year.

So far a good offseason. The Yanks have saved 16 million in salary and have gotten 4 young arms. Plus got rid of a couple older guys that were not going to be a big part of the Yanks in the future.
