Show me the money

The Sox officially are in the same league as the Yankees.  Sox fans cannot argue about money with Yankees fans anymore.  We can argue about who is better Matzauka or Igawa, we can argue about Rice and Mattingly as hall candidates, we can argue about what ballpark has better beer, but we cannot argue money.  Not after the way the Sox have spents 202 million on 3 players.

I still like the approach Cashman is taking.  I really feel he is building towards this years and beyond.  That doesn’t mean he trades Melky it just means he has leverage.  The toughest job in sports is the GM for the Yanks because you have to win now without destroying 2008.  I like the Yanks makeup for 2007.  They also have some flexibility to add help in July and make moves for 2008.

The Green Sox ( jealousy — the Green Eyed Monster )have always been hypocrites, their eyes on other cities. They are now crawling out of the NYY shadow, but they will not stand in the light of day. Their NL franchise left for Milwaukee! They couldn’t even come up with an original team name after they decided they weren’t Pilgrims ( Cincinnatti Reds ). Their finest son, Ben Franklin skipped town to Philadelphia. Their dopiest one ( sadly a NYer ) skips in & out of left field. The height of their wit is a chant found on men’s room stalls. AND the one thing they all know deep in their hearts, they can spend until they are spent, but they will never be the New York Yankees. If they have any money left, they can buy themselves some Yankee caps they can wear in the shadows. . ..
