Pettitte
Signing Pettitte to a 1 year, roughly 10 million deal seems to be the last move for the Yankees this offseason. If negotiations stall the team will turn to Lowe or Perez or others. Even though the Yankees name have come up in regards to Tex and Manny, other teams will be hungrier to sign these guys. I doubt they will sign with the Yankees.
Juan Rivera signed a 3 year, 12.75 million deal with the Halos. I remember watching him play at AA in Norwich. He has turned into a pretty good 4th outfielder/DH. He was jettisoned by the Yankees during the sign overpaid old guy and foresake the minors period of the early 2000’s. He has some pretty good career numbers.
Still worried about a #3 hitter but I guess the plan is to audition someone and hope he sticks. Maybe Swisher in the 3 hole will see a lot of fastballs and be that #3 guy. Maybe he will not strike out as much with a steady dose of fastballs.
